Born and raised in the heart of the Brazos Valley, where they discovered their passion for music and took the stage by storm. Playing for free at first with the hope of gaining an audience, their authentic sound and original compositions quickly made them stand out from the crowd. Their relentless hard work paid off, and in no time, they were packing out clubs in Houston and making a comfortable living from their music.
In 1993, the Staiton Brothers graced the stage of the Astrodome between Tracy Lawrence and Doug Stone in front of 70,000 exhilarated fans at the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo. It was a momentous day that cemented their reputation as accomplished entertainers. Following their success in Houston, the brothers headed to Nashville to expand their musical horizons along with one goal: to make some of the best country music to date.
The journey was exciting, and they found themselves recording on music row with some of the most exceptional country musicians out there! In 2001, the Staiton Brothers' promising career was struck with tragedy, and Scratch Staiton succumbed to Lupus just days before 9-11. The passing of his brother plunged Scooter Staiton into anguish, but he refused to let the dream die. Steve Ludwig Sr. "Scooter Staiton" picked up the torch, and after creating the Independent Company, Marvin's Room Publishing, he headed back to Nashville, where he recorded the album "Carrying On" in honor of his brother, which included heart-stopping compositions such as, "Canyon In Manhattan, Half A Man, & Hold That Cup."
Today, the Staiton Brothers' impressive catalog of original songs and exceptional sound has paved the way for the creation of "Brazos Valley Music." This music publishing company, founded by Eugene Clopton and Steve Ludwig Sr. "Scooter Staiton", aims to publish music for generations to come.
The Staiton Brothers' music continues to inspire a new generation of musicians, including Hannah Alphonse and Steve Ludwig Jr., Brenda & Dennis Smith of the band Stepping Out, as well as BVMC's debut artist, Shane Ludwig, who all sing and write music with the same passion and drive as the Staiton Brothers would.
